PMI Poland Chapter invites all interested project management community practitioners to share their experience and expertise and come forward as a SPEAKER at the 13th International PMI Poland Chapter Congress, which will take place in Warsaw, Poland on November 26 – 28.11.2018 (2 days of the conference and 1 day of workshops).

XIII International PMI Poland Chapter Congress is one of the most recognizable and prestigious events among professionals and the ones who are interested in the area of project, program and portfolio management. This is a unique event that brings together professionals from around the world to share knowledge and set new paths in project management.

PMI Poland Chapter, the leading association of project management professionals and enthusiasts, would like to invite you to the biggest international conference on project management for the 13th time. The PMI PC International Congress is composed of three days of debates and lectures and is the most important event in a project manager’s calendar. The Congress is also an exceptional opportunity to share one’s experience and insights with world-class project, programme and portfolio management specialists. Simply, an unmissable event!

“Make the difference” is the slogan of this year’s congress focusing on agility and responding to changes in the context of digitization and increasing project complexity. A separate discussion panel will be devoted to emotional intelligence as an important factor for project success as well as the successful implementation of hybrid methodologies in business. All speakers willing to give a speech or lead a workshop are kindly requested to fill in a registration form.

Notes

Please note that speakers should distinguish themselves with exceptional presentation skills. Therefore, in some cases, submission of public presentation video may be required.

This is an open invitation for any interested professional, not only PMI members. There is no limit for abstracts per one person.

Estimated time for each presentation is

  • 60 minutes (45 mins presentation + 15 mins Q&A),
  • 30 minutes (20 mins presentation + 10 mins Q&A),
  • Workshop – one day appx. 6-8h

Each application should include

Each abstract should include: title, contact details and photo (1000×1000 px, 300 dpi) short biography approx. 50 words, session description approx. 50 words;
(detailed agenda in case of workshop)

Answers on the following questions:

  • What is the purpose of the session?
  • What benefits could participants achieve from the session?

Expected level of participant’s knowledge – basic, intermediate, advanced or mixed

Important dates

The schedule and deadlines for sending abstracts are shown below. Each application will be handled by the conference organizing team. In case of positive application review, we will contact you to start further discussions on cooperation.

  • 15th July 2018 – Application deadline
  • 15th September 2018 – E-mail notification about on acceptance / non-acceptance of abstracts
  • 31st October 2018  – Deadline for submitting the first version of the presentation
  • 12th November 2018 – Deadline for submission of final versions of presentations

Ricardo Vergas

Executive Director of Brightline Initiative; Strategy Implementation & Project Management Expert; PMI Past Chair

Ricardo is an expert in project management, portfolio and risk management. For over 15 years he has been gaining and using his experience in the fields of energy, infrastructure, telecommunication, IT and finance. He became the first Latin American president of the Board of Directors of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the world’s largest Project Management organization. Educated as a chemistry engineer, he earned a master’s degree at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. He also holds numerous certificates at such institutions as George Washington University, Harvard Law School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Spencer Horn

Spencer is currently the President of Spencer Horn Solutions. He has previously been CEO of leadership development company and Vice President of a NASDAQ company, which developed IMAX theaters in tourist destinations. There he worked with major organizations such as IMAX Corp., National Geographic Television, Radio City Productions, Disney Films and more. He has been speaking and presenting at PMI chapter development conferences since 2010 and has been a regular speaker at the PMI Leadership Institute Meeting (LIM) North America Conference, since 2014. He has also been the concluding speaker for the yearlong, PMI Leadership Institute Master Class (LIMC) since 2015 and is scheduled to speak again at the 2018 LIMC in Los Angeles.

He is a co-author of the “Speakers on Life” anthology “The Power of the Platform” along with Jack Canfield, Les Brown, Brian Tracy and more.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Utah. He is a certified team coaching facilitator through Team Coaching International and a certified Professional Dynametric Programs trainer and administrator through PDP Global. Spencer has been married to his amazing wife, Jana, for more than 32 years. Together they have five beautiful children and three grandchildren.

Grażyna Piotrowska-Oliwa

The graduate of INSEAD in Fontainebleau (EMBA), National School of Public Administration in Warsaw and Academy of Music in Katowice. Manager with over 20 years of experience, with the majority of this time in the telecommunications sector. Entrepreneur and investor.
Member of Board of Directors in AR Packaging Group AB.
During her career, she held executive positions such as Executive Director of Strategy, Development and Wholesale in Telekomunikacja Polska (TP SA/Orange), President and CEO in PTK Centertel (Orange), Chief Sales and Logistics Officer in PKN Orlen and President and CEO in PGNiG. She has also run her own investment and consultancy company and was previously a member of the Supervisory Board of i.e. PZU, KDPW,  ABC Data, Orlen Deutschland and PGNiG International.

Thomas Walenta

Thomas Walenta is a retired IBM project and program manager, working occasionally for clients seeking to improve their organizational project management capabilities. Since 2002, he has been teaching project management at the University of Applied Sciences, Darmstadt, Germany.

Working in projects since 1974 and for IBM since 1983, Mr. Walenta decided to pursue a career in project management in 1988. He led projects, PMOs and programs for a variety of IBM customers in system integration, software, outsourcing and strategy development. From 2002, he started a program for a global electronics company in Europe. His cultural working experience is from government and the utility, insurance, banking, electronics and automotive industries, as well as geographically from most European countries, Russia, Japan, the United States and India.

Mr. Walenta has volunteered with PMI since 1998, serving as PMI Frankfurt Chapter president for almost eight years, a three-year term on PMI’s Board of Directors 2006-2008, and was a member of the PMI Ethics Review Committee since 2011, serving as chair in 2016. In parallel to these leadership roles, Mr. Walenta had global volunteer roles, for example on PMI standards development, PMI Project of the Year Award, R.E.P. application reviews and exam item writing.

His key volunteer professional awards are the PMI Fellow Award he received in 2012 and the first honorary membership of the PMI Frankfurt Chapter in 2006.

Mr. Walenta has spoken at global conferences since 2000, with five speeches delivered in 2015 in Moscow, Panama, Sao Paulo, London and Frankfurt.

He wrote chapters for two project management compendiums in the German language, and several articles for online publications (LinkedIn and projectmanagement.com). He is one of 25 global advisors for the PM World Journal.

Mr. Walenta has a university diploma in mathematics. He received his Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification in 1998 and the Program Management Professional (PgMP) ® in 2014.

Michel Thiry

Michel is recognized worldwide in applications of project, program, portfolio and value management at the organizational level. He supported the development of portfolio frameworks and strategic programs for major corporations in various fields using agile and change concepts. He is a regular Keynote Speaker for major International events since 1996.
